Five Minute Friday: prepare

Isaiah prophesied the prophet who came camel-clad and eating insects, a voice in the wilderness: “Prepare the way!”

Every valley shall be lifted up,
and every mountain and hill be made low;
the uneven ground shall become level,
and the rough places a plain.

But the Holy Land geography didn’t change when Jesus walked those roads. Valleys and mountains remain in their uneven glory, and His feet were bruised, no doubt, by the roughness they met.

No, His kingdom comes in hearts, and I watch Him renovating. They hurt, these preparations by which I am smoothed and leveled for His work. But His promise?

The glory of the LORD shall be revealed,
and all flesh shall see it together.

“Behold, the Lamb of God,” John said, “who takes away the sin of the world.”

Yes, Lord, prepare me, that you may reveal that glory in me!

Today I write with Kate Motaung and the Five Minute Friday crew on her prompt, “prepare.” The button above will take you to her site.
