Five Minute Friday with Lisa Jo. Today’s word: beautiful. (Although, obviously, today is Saturday, I did write this on Friday.)
And I’ve not been looking for “beautiful” this week — I’ve been focused on “needy,” forgetting that beauty is a need, that needs can be beautiful.
Thirteen hours driving south and east, and thunderstorms every afternoon, and here the soil is sand instead of clay, and it’s a different kind of wet on my feet.
We’re here to care for a patient who is recovering, and we’re encouraging her to drink, keeping her glass full of water, of Gatorade, of fruit juice.
Does God look at my faint-heartedness and diagnoses a spiritual dehydration? He fills my glass with living waters from the stream that makes glad the city of God.
And this water that meets my need is beautiful.

I love your description of the ground being a “different kind of wet.” Thank you for this wonderful reminder that needs can indeed be beautiful, and how much joy it can bring to help others.

Yes, indeed! Needs can be beautiful, too, especially when they are met by a loving Heavenly Father! Thanks for sharing, Stacy!
