“Whether your stars are made of love or fire,
There is a love that will outshine the stars.
There will be love when there are no more stars.”
–Edwin Arlington Robinson, Tristram
There’s a place on which to set your mind, a thought which will bear long thinking. And yet, if the weary little one should happen to carry it to bed with her, it is not such a thing as will keep her wakeful and wondering. No; more steadfast than the sky, it is also gentler than the white-cased pillow, more secure than the blue bedspread pulled up to her chin, certain as no dream — waking or sleeping — could be.
Rest then, little one.
“The Lord your God is in your midst,
A mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.”
— Zephaniah 3:17
